Join us for a special trip to the Cleveland Museum of Art to view CMA’s new exhibit, Brand-New & Terrific: Alex Katz in the 1950s.
Katz is one of the most acclaimed artists working today, and the exhibit includes more than 70 pieces borrowed from public and private art collections.
His artwork is often viewed as a precursor to Pop Art. His work (both portraits, landscapes and even 3-dimensional cutouts) reduces complicated subjects to their rudimentary characteristics: line, shape and color.
Visit the world-class museum and enjoy a docent-led tour of the exciting exhibit with fellow art lovers on Friday, June 16. A bus will leave our Main Branch at noon and return at 5 p.m.
A $10 fee pays for admission into the Katz exhibit and must be paid in advance of the trip. (Checks should be made to Mentor Public Library.) The transportation is free, underwritten by the Friends of the Mentor Public Library. It’s also free (and encouraged!) to browse CMA’s permanent collection.
If you want to join us, you have to reserve your spot on the bus. You can RSVP at any of our branches.
If you have any questions, call us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 210.
