Shalom! Our American Girl Book Club traveled back to 1914 in New York City when they met Russian Jewish girl Rebecca Rubin.
Our girls lot to learn about Rebecca while Rebecca learned about balancing her family’s traditions with her own new ideas.
Each month, our club gets together to discuss a different American Girl book each month and explore a different moment in American history. Then we make a craft and play games that tie into the book, character or era that we discussed.
For example, in July, we made scratch art dreidels and menorahs.
If you have a child who likes the American Girl books or dolls, then they can join the fun. They can even bring their dolls with them, if they like. (Of course, the dolls aren’t required.)
Our next meeting is 4 p.m. on Aug. 7 in the children’s section of our Main Branch on Mentor Avenue. The girls will be meeting Samantha.
You can register your child for the book club on our web site or by calling (440) 255-8811 ext. 221
