Around the World in 80 Minutes

Kids globe-hopped through 15 different countries last week in our Read House backyard.

They made Guatemalan worry dolls, candy sushi, maracas, and decorated their own Yoruba masks. They also snacked on hummus from Lebanon, pretzels from Germany, and sweet tea from the USA.

It was all part of our Around the World in 80 Minutes program where kids could sample crafts, games, and snacks from all over the world.

By the way, you still have time to participate in our Summer Reading program, Build a Better World.

The more someone reads, the better chance they have of winning. If a child reads 20 hours by July 30, they will be entered into a special raffle to win one of two $50 gift certificates from Toys ‘R Us.

We also have a summer reading program (and prizes) for teens and adults, as well. If you’re reading anyhow this summer (and you undoubtedly are), you should sign up and win something.
