Get your drawing hand and right brain ready!

We’re having an art contest this summer for kids entering seventh through 12th grade, and we want you to get creative.

Here are the rules:

  • Drawings must stick to our summer-reading theme of “Get in the Game,” (although you can interpret that however you want—video games, sports, board games, etc.)
  • All drawings must be appropriate and cannot feature sex, violence, or profanity.
  • Fan art is encouraged but must fit the theme.
  • All art must be given a title and submitted at the Reference Desk of our Main Branch.
  • All art must be turned in by July 15 to be considered for the contest.

The winner of the art contest gets a cool prize!

Speaking of prizes, you still have time to sign up for Summer Reading too.

Register at any of our branches. Everyone who participates in our summer reading programs has a chance to win prizes. Those prizes include gift cards from Toys ‘R’ Us and Lake County Captains tickets, as well as family passes to Holden Arboretum and Lake Metroparks Farmpark. The more someone reads, the better chance they have of winning.

For more information on summer reading, call us at 440-255-8811 or peruse our website for information on MPL programs, services, and events.
