Award-winning broadcaster Romona Robinson coming to Mentor Library

Romona Robinson will read from her new book, “A Dirt Road to Somewhere” when she comes to Mentor Public Library on Jan. 9.

Local legend Romona Robinson will discuss her Emmy Award-winning career in broadcast and read from her new book, A Dirt Road to Somewhere, when she comes to our Main Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Robinson became the first African-American woman to anchor a newscast in Cleveland in 1987. She has remained a fixture of the city’s broadcast news scene ever since.

She has won eight Emmy Awards and is a member of the Ohio Broadcasters Halls of Fame.

Robinson will talk about her accolade-studded career during her appearance at the library. Afterward, copies of her book will be available for sale and signing.
