From Sept. 23 to 29, libraries and schools across the country will recognize Banned Books Week.
It’s a chance for us to remind you about all the society-changing books that have been banned or challenged. And there’s a good chance that list includes your personal favorite. Imagine your bookshelf without To Kill a Mockingbird, Color Purple, Animal Farm, Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.
Commemorate Banned Books Week with us by making your own Banned Books tote bag at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at our Lake Branch. You can use stencils, fabric paint, markers and more to design and create your own bag.
This crafty program is free to attend and open to everyone in sixth grade or higher. We only ask that you RSVP. You can register online or call us at (440) 257-2512.
