Mentor Public Library will continue its Battles of World War II series by focusing on the Battle of the Bulge, the last great battle of the western front.
On December, 16, 1944, a massive German offensive slammed into U.S. positions in the Ardennes Forest. The ensuing battle is a story of heroism and endurance in the depths of the European winter.
The talk will be 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at our Main Branch.
The speaker will be our own reference librarian Dr. John Foster, who earned a doctorate degree in history with a specialization in Modern German History. He has taught topics as diverse as the Holocaust and Napoleon’s rise to power.
The series continues in October with The Fall of Berlin.
