Combining story time and yoga time

Sometimes it’s fun to stretch your mind and body, so we’ve combined story time with yoga practice during our Books & Yoga series.

Each week, our own Ms. Lisa reads classic children’s books, while the kids act it out using different yoga positions. Darlene Kelbach, whom you may remember from our Fairy Yoga program, serves as our yogi.

On Tuesday, April 20, we read Hedgehugs by Steve Wilson and Lucy Tapper. It’s the story of two hedgehogs who help raise a caterpillar.

The kids used their yoga to help tell the story.

Our Books & Yoga series has concluded, but you can join us for more yoga fun this summer.

Darlene will return for another round of fairy yoga at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, at our Main Branch. It’s open to all kids from four to 10 years old. Registration begins May 18.

See you at the library, and namaste!
