Chilling at the poles

What’s cooler than cool? Learning about the earth’s poles at our Headlands Branch.

Kids discovered all sorts of facts about the North and South Poles and the animals that live there during a special program earlier this month. For example, puffins and polar bears—North Pole. Penguins—south pole. And you’ll find a host of seals and whales at both ends of the world.

(Sadly, this makes it unlikely that a polar bear and penguin ever shared a soda.)

The children also crafted polar bears from cardboard rolls and walruses from paper bags. They enjoyed a chilly treat too.
