Get in the game with Clashing Controllers

Teens can compete Clashing Controllers, our monthly video-game tournament, at our Lake Branch.

On the third Wednesday of every month, teens gather at our Lake Branch to face off in Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros and other games.

We call it Clashing Controllers, and we want to know if you’re game enough to jump in.

You don’t have to be a hardcore gamer to join (though we get a few of those too.) If you want to have fun, that’s all you need!

The next Clashing Controllers session starts at 6:30 p.m. on, Wednesday, Dec. 21. It’s free and open to all teens.

By the way, if you love video games, you’ll want to check out our Time Travelers Club. We’ll be playing retro games at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at our Lake Branch.

Also, if you’re a gamer but too young for Clashing Controllers, you’ll love our new club, MPL Arcade.

Our first meeting is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, at our Main Branch. We’ll be playing Mario Kart! (Remember, blue shells ruin friendships.)

There will also be tabletop and board games to play, so you can still have fun while you’re waiting for a controller.
