The Next Book Sale ...

The Summer Book Sale will take place on Friday, July 16 from 9:00 pm to 4:00 pm and on Saturday, July 17 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is no preview for the Summer Sale.

The Friends of the Library hold book sales in Spring, Summer and Fall. (Non-members may join at the doora. Proceeds from the Book Sales are used to benefit the Mentor Public Library. Adult fiction and nonfiction, children's books, CDs, collector's items, audio books, large print books, videos, music, and more! Two rooms jam-packed with loads of bargains for all ages

It's Easy to Join

To become a member, print and complete a membership application. Or stop by Circulation Services, fill out a form and write a tax deductible check for the desired type of membership to "Friends of the Mentor Public Library."

Individual $3.00
Family $5.00
Patron $25.00 to $99.00
Sustaining $100 or more

Your membership entitles you to attend the Book Sale Previews in the Fall and Spring, to a subscription to Bookends, the Friends quarterly newsletter (read the latest issue here),and to attend the Annual Meeting. Meetings

All members are welcome to attend the Friends bi-monthly meetings. These take place at the Main Library on the 2nd Tuesday of every other Month. 2010 Friends Meetings will be posted here soon!

Friends Book Store

Our new store near the main entrance is an excellent opportunity for Library Patrons to purchase great items at very reasonable prices between the Book Sales. The inventory is constantly changing, so stop in often to find that special item at a bargain price.

Thursday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Friday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Saturday 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Sunday  1:30 pm - 3:30 pm


Book Donations

Cleaning out your collection? Kids outgrowing their childhood favorites? Moving? Donate your unwanted items to the Friends for their sale. We will galdly accept:

  • books (fiction and non-fiction, hardbound or paperback)
  • videotapes
  • DVDs
  • audiobooks
  • music CDs
  • cassettes
  • magazines
  • even jigsaw puzzles!

Materials may be dropped off at the Main Library anytime. Call ahead of time and we'll help you unload. And remember - your donation is tax-deductible.
