Make Hand-Colored Photography with our Time Travelers Club

Go back to the era of daguerreotypes and overpainting with our Time Travelers Club.

Go back to the era of daguerreotypes and overpainting with our Time Travelers Club.

Long before coloring books got super-popular, painting or drawing over a photograph was the only way to give it color.

The process goes by a few different names, including hand-coloring or overpainting, but it’s not all that different your old coloring books. (Well, maybe it’s a little fancier. Felice Beato used to do it, after all.)

Our Time Travelers Club is going to try their hands at hand-coloring photographs at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at our Lake Branch.

All teens are welcome to join our Time Travelers Club. Each month, we tackle classic games and crafts from different eras.

So far we’ve played old-school video and board games and tried string art. In December, we’ll celebrate a very vintage Christmas.

You can sign up for the Time Travelers Club online or call us at 440-257-2512.
