Kids better be ready to play because it’s International Games Day on Saturday, Nov. 18.
We’re celebrating with Mario Kart and FIFA 2018 tournaments at our Main Branch.
At noon, children from six to 12 years old can compete in the Mario Kart tournament. Kids can play on Wii and Wii U systems or bring their own DS.
Then, teens can compete in the our FIFA 2018 tournament from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. One lucky gamer will win bragging rights and a $25 gift card to GameStop.
Meanwhile, the Minecraft Club will meet at 2 p.m. at our Lake Branch. Each month, the club mines, explores and shares strategies in the wide world of Minecraft.
Additionally, Mentor Public Library hosts a pair of video-game clubs each month. Teens can compete in a monthly video-game tournament called Clashing Controllers. The next tourney is 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at MPL’s Lake Branch. And third through sixth graders can come to MPL Arcade—the library’s gaming club for kids—at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at our Main Branch.
All the programs are free but the we require that players in the International Games Day tournaments register beforehand. They can sign up on our event calendar or by calling the library at 440-255-8811.
