During our first Make-It Monday of the summer, we learned one child’s trash is another kid’s planter or even plaything.

Our old friends Bonnie Rice from the city of Mentor and Beth Bollas from the Lake County Solid Waste District showed kids how they could craft old newspaper into planters or plastic bottles into dolls.

We’re hosting Make-It Mondays at 1 p.m. at our Read House on each Monday during Summer Reading.

Every week, we’ll have a different theme, as well as different crafts and games. It’s free and open to all kids. No registration necessary!

This upcoming Monday, we’re building as a team.
