We love video games at the library, so we celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with a 64-bit bash.
Kids decorated their own Kokiri caps, caught fairies, practiced archery, and cracked an ancient code that revealed where a treasure chest hid. And, of course, the chest was full of ocarinas for the kids.
By the way, if your children like video games, we have a pair of gamer clubs they can join.
Teens can check out our Clashing Controllers Club. On the third Wednesday of each month, they face off in Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros and other games at our Lake Branch.
And children who are too young for Clashing Controllers can join MPL Arcade. Our next meeting is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at our Main Branch. In addition to Wii U games, we also play tabletop and board games, so kids can still have fun while they’re waiting for a controller.
