Make-It Monday: Recycling Crafts

We’re Building a Better World this summer at Mentor Public Library, and we want to help you build something too.

That’s why we’re hosting Make-It Mondays at 1 p.m. at our Read House during Summer Reading.

Today we’re using recycled items to make crafts. Come by and join fun! No registration necessary.

For an example of a recycling craft, see how we transformed an empty toilet paper roll and some pushpins into a cellphone holder.

By the way, you can also sign up for our Summer Reading program when you visit us.

Everyone who participates in the our summer reading program has a chance to win prizes. Those prizes include gift cards from local businesses, tickets to the Great Lakes Science Center and Cleveland Botanical Garden, as well as passes to Lake Metroparks Farmpark or the City of Mentor’s pools and ice rink. (By the way, thanks to all our sponsors who help make Summer Reading possible!)

The more someone reads, the better chance they have of winning.

Kids who read or are read to up to 15 hours will also receive a Library Champion lawn sign and window cling.

For more information on our summer reading program, call us or check out our event calendar.
