Love video games?
Mentor Public Library has gaming programs for kids, teens and, yes, even adults in July.
First up, teens can join us for a round of retro gaming at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, at our Main Branch. They can challenge their friends to an old-school gaming throwdown with classics like Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Galaga, and more.
Then, the grown-ups get a turn to play classic arcade games during their own retro gaming program at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 13—once more, at our Main Branch.
We also host a pair of monthly gamer clubs: one for kids, one for teens.
MPL Arcade, our video-game club for kids, plays a different game each month. For example, in June, we hosted a tag-team Super Smash Bros tournament.
Our next meeting is 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 17. It’s open to all kids in third through sixth grade.
Meanwhile, teens can check out our Clashing Controllers Club. The next meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, at our Lake Branch.
While all programs are free and open to the public, some require registration. You can sign up by calling us.
