Lake County Obituary Index ... This Index is for obituaries and death notices of Lake County residents or persons with connections to Lake County. The primary newspapers indexed are the PAINESVILLE TELEGRAPH (title varies) from July 16, 1822 to April 30, 1986, when it ceased publication, and the News-Herald from May 1, 1986 to the present. Also included are obituaries from the NORTHERN OHIO JOURNAL (Painesville), July 11, 1874 to June 26, 1880; the PAINESVILLE REPUBLICAN, 1898 to 1906; and the WILLLOUGHBY GAZETTE, Oct. 1, 1868 to Sept. 25, 1869. Some obituaries were missed. If you do not find a person's name in the index and you know the date of death, you may wish to read the newspapers. The online database currently contains obituaries from 1 January 1998 to the present along with those from A through M for the period of 1830 through 1997.

Lake County Rootsweb ... We try to make this one-stop-shopping for Lake County, Ohio genealogy. A large number of databases are now available. Some of my favorites include the Pioneer Registry, Biographies, Census, and Vital Records. Databases and are being added on a regular basis. In fact, over 10,000 Lake County Probate Births 1867-1908 are now under Vital Records, thanks to lots of volunteers' efforts.

WebGallery of Art ... a virtual museum and searchable database of European painting and sculpture of the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicism and Romanticism periods (1100-1850), currently containing over 20.300 reproductions.

World Arts West ...a growing collection of illustrated descriptions of dance styles from around the world, such as masked dances of Liberia, capoeira (Brazil), kathak (India), Yup'ik Eskimo dance, Afro-Cuban folkloric dance, and hula. OSLSA is a nonprofit law firm founded in 1966 by the Ohio State Bar Association.Their website provides information to low income Ohioans about legal help and their legal rights. Website includes a directory of low cost legal services by Ohio county, and information on Ohio law.

Ohio Revised Code ... includes all statutes of a permanent and general nature of the state as revised and consolidated into general provisions, titles, chapters, and sections including all bills passed, filed, and with an effective date through June 15, 2007.
