Come to the ukulele party on Sunday, June 24, at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch.

First things first, did you know you can borrow a ukulele from the library?

Oh yes, all you need is an adult MPL card in good standing, and we’ll lend you a soprano or concert ukulele for two weeks. You’ll get a tuner and beginner’s music book, as well. We also have dozens more music books that you can borrow from us, if you’d like.

Now, perhaps you’re a little intimidated. Maybe you need more than an instrument and tuner to get you started.

Then, come to our Ukulele Party at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, at our Main Branch.

Arrowhead Music instructor Mark Herkner will perform a few songs and offer tips for tuning and playing ukuleles. And, of course, we’ll have ukuleles available so that you can make music too.

The program is open to all adults and kids older than eight. We only ask that you RSVP. You can sign up online or call us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 247.
