What do you do with an old book?
You could recycle or donate it. Or you could transform it into art.
Teens got creative with old books during our crafternoon earlier this month. They upcycled stray pages into origami roses and used book folding to turn the books themselves into sculptures.
We have more programs slated for teens this summer including:
- a throwback party at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, at our Main Branch. They’ll jam to music from ’80s-’00s, make sweet buttons, and play retro video games on the classic video game consoles like PlayStation, Gameboy and Nintendo 64.
- a FIFA 18 tournament to celebrate the World Cup at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, at our Main Branch. Winner gets a $25 card to GameStop and bragging rights.
- another crafternoon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11. Teens can make all sorts of phenomenal things out of duct tape.
By the way, if your teens are gamers, they should check out our Clashing Controllers Club. On the third Wednesday of each month, they face off in Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros and other games at our Lake Branch.
All of these programs are free. We only ask that you RSVP. You can sign up online or call us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 247.
