Our Little Free Libraries are back for the summer, and we’ve recently added a new location.
Now bikers, hikers, fishers, and families can find their new favorite book at Veterans Park in Mentor. (By the way, thanks to Lake Metroparks for sharing their beautiful park with us!)
If you’re not familiar with Little Free Libraries, they work like community book exchanges. When someone sees one around the community, they can take a book from it, read it, keep it if they want, and bring it back if they don’t.
The books used to stock the free library aren’t part of the Mentor Public Library’s collection. Most of them are donated. And, of course, you’re allowed to leave a book or two in there also, if you’d like.
We have more than a dozen Little Free Libraries in parks, pools and restaurants around the community. Scope them out when you see one. You never know what you’ll find inside!
Finally, we have some people we’d like to thank vis-à-vis the Little Free Libraries. Thanks to all our partners who host them, the volunteers who make sure they stay filled, everyone who donates books, and everyone who takes a book to read. Without all of you, our Little Free Libraries would just be handsome blue bird houses.
