Is your kid a gamer? They’ll love our Zelda program on Thursday, June 28.

We love video games at the library, so we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with a 64-bit bash.

Kids can decorate their own Kokiri cap, solve ancient puzzles, and catch a fairy. They will also get their own ocarina and learn how to play it. (We do not promise that said ocarina will help them travel through time.)

The fun begins at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, at our Read House. The program is open to all kids, ages seven through 12. We only require that you RSVP. You can sign up online or call us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 247.

By the way, if your children like video games, we have a pair of gamer clubs they can join.

Teens can check out our Clashing Controllers Club. On the third Wednesday of each month, they face off in Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros and other games at our Lake Branch.

And children who are too young for Clashing Controllers can join MPL Arcade. Our next meeting is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, at our Main Branch. In addition to Wii U games, we also play tabletop and board games, so kids can still have fun while they’re waiting for a controller.

And, of course, we have hundreds of video games that you can borrow from us, including titles for Nintendo Switch.
