It’s our party – our 200th birthday, to be specific – and we feel like celebrating.
So we’re hosting a pair of Amnesty Days on Friday, Feb. 22, and Saturday, Feb. 23. If you return previously lost or overdue Mentor Public Library items, then the fines on those items will be waived. (The only exceptions are for hotspots and items borrowed via inter-library loan.)
A few caveats:
- This is not an amnesty for fines accrued on already returned items. It’s for items that are being returned that day, which are overdue or lost.
- The items must be in good enough condition that they can return to the library’s collection.
- Finally, we’re waiving the fines on the returning items. However, you’ll still have to pay the collections fee if your account has been sent to a collections agency.
That’s the fine print. But the quick summary is this: If you have something from the library that’s overdue, then bring it back and you won’t have to pay its fine.
By the way, visit our birthday page for more information on our 200th year as your community library.
