We’re about to have some very special guests in the Children’s Department at our Main Branch.

See what’s cracking at the library!

Starting Thursday, Feb. 20, we’ll have special guests – little chicken eggs that are getting ready to hatch – in the children’s department at our Main Branch. We will have an incubator set up and you may even get to see the eggs hatch!

Kids will also get a chance to vote on our chicks’ names during a special program with Jess Nestor from Meyer Hatchery at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at our Main Branch.

Jess will discuss the process of chicken egg hatching and may even bring along a few baby chick friends to share with us! Families can join us for a fun and educational program. No registration required.

Our eggs should be hatching by March 9. After hatching, we will have baby chicks for about a week and then we will take them to Chagrin Valley School. So come up and visit them anytime while we’re open.
