Make creepy altered books at the library

Transform old books into new works of art during our Creepy Altered Books program.

Teens and tweens can make creepy and crafty altered books during a Halloween-themed program at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at our Lake Branch.

If your kid is off school that day – as Mentor students will be – then bring them to the library where they can get creative.

If you’ve never heard of altered books before, it’s when people use an old book as the raw material for an art project. It’s remarkable to see what some people have made.

Teens and tweens (ages nine and older) are welcome to join the fun. We’ll provide the supplies. However, due to limited space, we require that you register beforehand. You can sign up online or call us at (440) 257-2512.

Adults can craft altered books too during a library program at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Concord Community Center (7671 Auburn Road, Concord Township.) To register to attend, call the Concord Community Center at (440) 639-4650.

By the way, don’t miss all of the amazing programs we’re hosting this October during our Mentor Mystery Month.
