Sphering the Circle

How do you turn 20 circles into a spherical work of art?

With style, naturally… and a lot of glue sticks.

Our Masterpieces at Main Art Club went 3-dimensional this month, crafting colorful spheres out of construction paper.

Each month, the Masterpieces tackle a different art project. They’ve tried paper quilling and painting like Piet Mondrian.

Furthermore, our club is always happy to welcome new members. It’s open to all kids (eight to 12 years old.) And you don’t need to paint like Picasso or sculpt like Michelangelo to participate. However, to get the most out of the club, the kids will need to be able to work independently. Also, art can get messy, so dress appropriately.

Our next meeting is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. You can register by calling us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 221.

By the way, kids aren’t the only ones who can get creative at the library. Growns up can join our Crafty Adults club. Each month, they take on a new craft. We’ll meet next at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, at our Lake Branch.
