Reading is pretty much always a good cause. However, between now and Feb. 21, kids can read for an even better cause than usual.

That’s because children can raise money for the Mentor Schools Foundation by participating in its annual Read-a-Thon.

If you’ve never heard of Mentor Schools Foundation, it has given more than $120,000 to Mentor Schools’ projects since its creation in 1985. It’s given grants to robotics, theater, Science Olympiad, Model United Nations, literacy programs and more.

And the Read-a-Thon is one of the foundation’s most important fundraisers each year. Here’s how it works: Kids can sign up friends and family members for pledges. The more the children read and the more pledges they get, the more money will go to Mentor Schools Foundation.

There’s still time to join the Read-a-Thon. You can grab a form to participate at our Main Branch. It’s also available on the foundation’s website.

Good reading!
