Get a free introduction to Reiki from a certified Reiki master on Feb. 4 at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch.

You can learn everything you want to know about Reiki during a free introduction at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at our Main Branch.

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a natural healing technique that uses a gentle laying on of hands or even no touch. It has been used in caring for people with dementia and can help caregivers cope with the stress of caring for an aging or ill loved one.

Maggie Kimble, a certified Reiki master and aromatherapist, will explain how you can perform Reiki for yourself, your loved ones, and even your pets. After her talk, there will be free Reiki sessions (about seven to 10 minutes) for those interested, as time permits.

This program is free to attend, but registration is required. You can sign up online or call the library at (440) 255-8811 ext. 247.

By the way, if you’re looking for more information on Reiki, the library has both books and DVDs that you can borrow. There are even ebooks and audiobooks that you can borrow right now.
