You can use the makerspace’s vinyl cutter to make custom stickers, shirts and more at The HUB this summer.
We invites everyone to meet the makerspace at our newest branch, The HUB inside Mentor High School.
There’s never been a better opportunity to use the makerspace’s equipment. Starting Monday, June 3, we’re expanding The HUB’s hours to noon to 8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.
The HUB’s makerspace has a green-screen studio (complete with camera and editing equipment,) laser engraver, vinyl cutter, T-shirt press, large format printer, spiral binder, button maker, 3D pens, sticker printer, and mini-laminator.
People can use any or all of these machines to make the project of their dreams. They don’t need to be a student at Mentor High School or even a resident of Mentor. All they need is a CLEVNET card in good standing. Click here for more details or to make a reservation.
Additionally, The HUB hosts programs for all ages.
Those programs include:
- a tour of the makerspace and live demonstration of its equipment at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 3, and then again at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.
- making galactic jewelry at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5. Teens can use the laser engraver in The HUB’s makerspace to create their own pendants and necklaces.
- Creating glow-in-the-dark slime at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 6. For kids, eight to 12 years old.
Makers can also cross-stitch constellations, laser engrave photo frames, and use digital photos or video clips to create memories on iMovie during programs at The HUB this June.
All these programs are free to attend. However, some programs are for different age groups. Also, we do require that you register beforehand. You can sign up online or call The HUB at 440-205-6011.
