Meet mystery and true-crime authors, explore the macabre, and discover spooky local history during Mystery Month at Mentor Public Library.

October is Mystery Month at Mentor Public Library! We’re celebrating with 31 days of mystery and true-crime authors, as well as more programs and speakers that investigate the mysterious and macabre, including:

We’re hosting programs for kids and whole families, as well, including:

  • solving a mystery of your own when you play Whodunnit: Fairy Tale Edition at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2. Families can play a Fairy Tale-themed, super-sized game of Clue and discover which sinister villain poisoned the princess.
  • joining the Jigsaw Jamboree at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at our Headlands Branch. Kids (kindergarten through fifth grade) can design their own puzzle.
  • munching on Mystery Candy at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at our Headlands Branch. Tweens can try to guess the mysterious goodies.
  • ghostbusting all month long at our Lake Branch. Each day, a different ghost will haunt the library. Kids who spot the specter will receive a small prize. Children can play one time from Oct. 1 through Halloween.

All of these programs are open to all, free to attend, and require registration. You can sign up to attend online or by calling the library at (440) 255-8811. They are also all hosted at our Main Branch, unless otherwise mentioned.

Meet mystery author D.M. Pulley at Mentor Library

By |2019-09-13T06:00:20-04:00September 13, 2019|

Best-selling and award-winning mystery writer D.M. Pulley will talk about her newest book, No One’s Home, when she visits our Main Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The only thing Pulley loves more than a good mystery is a haunted house, and her newest book has both. In No One’s Home, horrors await the Spielman family as they move into a foreclosed mansion, looking for a fresh start. But secrets in the mansion’s and Spielman family’s pasts don’t stay hidden.

Pulley’s talk is free to attend and open to all. Due to limited space, we do require that you register beforehand. You can register online or call us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 247. Pulley’s books will be available for sale and signing after her talk.

Pulley’s visit is part of the Month of Mystery at Mentor Public Library. Throughout October, some of the best mystery and true-crime authors will be speaking at the library, including:
