Did you know that a young woman who lived in Lake County served as a Union spy by request of none less than President Abraham Lincoln?
You can learn about this woman (whose name was Elizabeth Stiles, by the way) and more like her when we host the Women Spies in Ohio program at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, at our Main Branch.
A speaker from the Lake County History Center will guide you through this secret world of subterfuge. They served from the Revolutionary War to the World Wars. But who were these women that risked all for their country? What are their stories?
This program is open to all but registration is required. You can sign up to attend online or call us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 247.
